CT-1020 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System
AThe APEX Alkaline Countertop Reverse Osmosis System is more than a regular water filter. This APEX filtration system uses multiple stages of water filtration plus a final alkaline cartridge that adds minerals and raises the pH to create pure alkaline drinking water. The process begins by removing tiny particles like rust,
sand and insect parts. This protects your family and prevents the filtration systems from clogging. Next, the water flows through an in-line granular activated carbon filter. Granular activated carbon removes taste and odor-causing chemicals like chlorine, chloramine and rotten-egg odors. But that’s not all. Did you know that the chlorine disinfection process can create cancer-causing byproducts in the water? The good news is these carcinogens, called THMs, are removed by the activated carbon filter. The carbon cartridge also removes organic chemicals like herbicides, insecticides and PCBs that seep into groundwater.
The next step involves the reverse osmosis (RO) process. Water is “squeezed” through a special membrane. Heavy metals, like lead and mercury, are removed while purified water passes through. The RO process also removes salts, fluoride, radon and benzene. The purified then flows through a post-filter containing granular activated carbon. This acts as a polishing filter, removing any traces of tastes, odors or gasses, for crystal clear, sparkling drinking water. The last stage conditions the purified water by adding essential minerals including calcium, magnesium and potassium while gently raising the pH to an alkaline condition. Many health benefits are associated with drinking alkaline water including weight loss, antioxidant properties and reduction in bone loss (osteoporosis). The best part is the water does not taste bitter or chalky! The APEX Alkaline Countertop Reverse Osmosis System makes refreshing water the whole family will enjoy.
TThe APEX Alkaline Countertop Reverse Osmosis System connects to any standard faucet. Simply screw on the diverter valve and turn on the water. The diverter valve allows you to use your sink faucet for unfiltered water for washing dishes, mopping and other cleaning tasks. Use the diverter valve to send purified alkaline water to the white tube. Collect the purified water in a pitcher or empty
water jug. The black tube sends wastewater down the drain. The APEX Alkaline Countertop Reverse Osmosis System is pre-assembled and can be installed with simple hand tools. Reverse osmosis filter systems require a water pressure of 40-80 PSI to function properly. Routine replacement of the filter cartridges is recommended to maintain filter performance. Replacement filters are available from APEX Water Filters.
